Quotes Found in Literature

My sweet coworker always lends me books to read. I like to call it The Library of Laine... Because her name is Laine. Well, I recently read Rules of Civility by Amor Towles and really enjoyed it! I'm all about a book set in 1930s NYC with a side of cocktails, fabulous adventure, and girl power.

One quote, in particular, stood out to me.

"We ordered martinis from a waiter named Mitchell and reviewed the menus. To begin, Wallace ordered aspic, of all things, and I had the house salas - a terrific concoction of iceberg greens, cold blue cheese and warm red bacon. If I were a country, I would have made it my flag."

I have a lot of respect for any girl who loves a dish so much she's willing to make it her country's flag. Fly that flag high, Katey!
